Special Series |
April is Asian
American Awareness Month at SBU. In honor of that, this month we
start on two new journeys.
One looks to the future - to the first of its kind in
the nation, the Charles B. Wang Asian American Center, soon to open
for our benefit. What will that mean for us?
The second looks to the past - to our alumni.
Where are they now? How are they doing? And if they haven't been back
in awhile, how we hope the Wang Center will entice them back. |
And how we hope to entice them into more than
coming back, but giving back. Letting them enrich this
campus in the ways that couldn't be done for them.
In that vein, we celebrate two new scholarships,
the first in Chinese Studies, and the first for student leaders in
Asian American clubs, funded by faculty, staff, friends and alumni in
memory of the first Chair of what was, in 1967, known as Asian Studies
- Professor
Shi Ming Hu. |
The best is yet to come! Welcome to our
journey! |
